Marina and the diamonds

I've written about Marina & the diamonds 3 times on this blog already and she's been featured on here twice as much. I saw her live for the first time just over a month ago, I liked her music before hand but one thing that struck me was how close she was with her audience, she really makes you feel like she's excited to be performing for you and for you to be there. Which is no doubt why she's amassed a great fanbase in a pretty short space of time, this as well as being an electrifying performer.

She's another artist I follow on twitter and through this I know that Perez Hilton and Kanye West are hyping her to the high heavens. This means two things. The first is that she's going to be huge and deservedly so. The second which I pray doesn't happen is that she's going to do electronic music and marketed to the brit awards crowd ala la roux and little boots.

I'm not sure I can say anything that I haven't said in any of my other posts! I must emplore you to make up your own mind before you get told what to think by the press.

I love her delivery so much, I am not a robot, seventeen and Mowgli's road are just brilliant, check them out. Also I had only heard "shampain" live before today and it was quite the fans favourite then, I've included the studio version here.

Fact of the matter even if these are the only good tracks on her album (which they won't be) it'll be massive, 2010 is the year of the diamonds.

Obsessions - "This track is laden with secret stars like angst with her synesthesia infused vocals. Maybe the piano is a little simple but the pulsing of the percussion helps it on the journey that she's becoming pretty spectacular at creating." ~ outroversion
